Overview:
San Jacinto is in Southeast Guatemala near Honduras and El Salvador. With a total population of about 14,000, 12,000 of those live between 12 communities in the mountainous old growth forest outside of town. Due to climate and lack of resources, many families are accustomed to living on about $2 per day. Each family has about 5-8 people. While working alongside the communities over the last two years, we have seen a level of resilience and resourcefulness that keeps us motivated to continue working with community leaders to identify and implement sustainable solutions.

What will I do?
As a volunteer you’ll have the opportunity to get your hands dirty on the project you helped fund, primarily through manual labor. This could consist of painting, planting gardens or trees, basic construction, clean up and more!
With additional training you may also fit children with shoes, or distribute and demonstrate how to use water filters. Female participants may also distribute feminine hygiene products.
Where will I stay?
We stay at an awesome ranch 10 minutes outside the main town of San Jacinto (see day 3-5 of itinerary). There is A/C and a pool, perfect after a long day of work!
What will I eat?
We eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the communities will make us lunch for us each day!
What’s My Impact?
Your impact expands far beyond the scope of the specific impact project you work on. Each project completed will empower the communities to improve their quality of life, and embolden them to plan for a brighter future. There is no doubt the things you learn during this process will highlight the common thread that connects us all and change your life forever.
