Find Your Free

If I’ve learned anything from travel it’s that it makes me want more.

In a single day I woke up to a Minturn, Colorado snow storm, only to find myself hours later staring out across a red rock desert in Moab. I met an adventurous few living out of a combination of their tents and cars; moving from one radical rock face to the next. Thanks to a friend I was lucky enough to spend some time with these pioneers of the sky.

Running Out – What is happening to the Colorado River?

The Colorado River  is a 1,450-mile long river running from the Rocky Mountains all the way down to the Gulf of California, and it's drying up.

This river is a primary source of water for many agricultural and urban areas in the southwestern United States. In recent years, there has been a tremendous increase in the amount of water being drawn from groundwater supplies rather than use of surface water.

Your Normal Is Not Normal

I generally wake up to the sound of my iPhone alarm around 7:00 am depending on how many times I hit the snooze button. Then I walk to my bathroom, make some room for the day to come, wash my hands with hot soap and water and head to the kitchen.

He wakes up when the sun comes up, or when his upset stomach from the dirty water he drank last night has him rushing to the outhouse.

Drowning in my Water Bill

Drowning in my Water Bill

Every month or so most of us receive a bill(s) in the mail demanding an amount of money for our utility usage. Last month my water bill was more expensive than the last… a whopping $57.88! Paying bills is never where I prefer to spend my money but in reality is this measly $57.88 really that much for access to clean water?

Dirty Water is Putting Women and Children in Danger

Imagine you live in a place where your wife or daughter is sent to find clean water every day, sometimes taking a few hours and sometimes an entire day to find. What if they never came back? What if they came back but didn’t make it through the night due to an illness they contracted while in search of clean water? Who knew the mission to find clean water could be so dangerous, or even deadly.
